I really regret releasing Known as an open source platform first. A very poor decision, made with ideology rather than strategy.

@opencontent Blog post to come. Elgg was open sourced long after release - was the correct way around for lots of reasons.

Why do you feel this way? Personally I am glad that Known empowered me to get into the indieWeb :-)

@benwerd monetise the added value - for me a mobile app is worth paying for ;-)

@digisim That only works if the platform has reached scale. And you can only reach scale with time + money.

@benwerd but scale might come from mobility. (But alas this also needs time & money).
