@taupeavenger Often half that. Basically commute + afternoon walk. Not great.
@_pius This is what I'm thinking too. As a bonus, it forces you into an API-and-front-end MVC pattern.
@timmmmyboy Pretty sure Google has a crawler that executes JS. Not guaranteed to be good though. And not available to the masses.
If everyone builds JS one-page apps that dynamically generate HTML, nothing can be crawled easily. It's all ephemeral. Does it matter?
@coreyhaines I feel like I'm missing something fundamental? Or is this more existential?
@2noame It's obviously hugely valuable and my model was simplistic. I don't, however, think open source coding is in the same ballpark.
@cmal_pp Planned production has also been shown to not work. My vote: more intelligent, compassionate capitalism. @mrclay_org
@mrclay_org @cmal_pp No doubt there are serious problems to be fixed (eg extreme inequality). I don't think exiting capitalism is answer.
You don't get to choose whether what you do "enriches society". Society will tell you.
I'm in favor of a universal basic income, but not as a magical salary for people to make valueless things. It's a safety net.
@hondanhon Mine's actually both fair trade and organic. Please don't click too hard.
