I've been thinking a lot about my grandfather, my mom's dad, who was captured by the Nazis and had to deny his Jewishness to survive.

Note that "better" explicitly doesn't mean "would have led to a result we preferred".

Mentioned partially because I'm reading actual reports of people with guns outside polling places. This is what the actual Nazis did.

@annejohn Heh. Freudian slip, because I still can't believe anyone would make him foreign secretary.

@mattl @kevinmarks There's no iron in Irn Bru. If there was, it'd be called Iron Bru. And if it was brewed ...

@mattl @kevinmarks The recipe for Irn Bru is easy. Just take some unstable radioactive material and carbonate it.

That's a super-great point. I don't think it completely contradicts what he's saying - the Google infrastructure becomes the highly commercialized layer. But it's an interesting omission.

I'm a tech startup guy in favor of the SF tech payroll tax. I'd also like to see much more efficient local government spending.

@adamscrabble No question there's a lot of misguided legislation. In still in favor of European-style social infrastructure though.

@adamscrabble Yes. That's an important battle for another day. This is about gun legislation and needs focus. Can't fix everything at once.
