I've just re-enabled system messages within Elgg. We're in the process of upgrading the templates, but within a couple of hours you should start to see acknowledgement / error messages. A couple of other things have also been fixed (for example, uploading a file without clicking the
I'm really pleased that a number of people using Elgg have already been cooking up their own templates. In particular, Ashley Parker and Alison Wong have really done nice jobs, and have realised that it's possible to include images in your file repository in the layout

I'd like to echo Dave's thank you to everyone who signed up for the alpha testing. After a year of thinking about the ideas involved, writing papers, thinking some more and settling down into programming it all, it's really great to see everyone using
