Ask a newsroom technology leader
From startup CTO to newsroom leader: Ask me anything.

I've spent 15+ years building media technology. At Latakoo, where I was the first employee and founding CTO, we built the video-gathering platform used by news networks like NBC News. At Matter Ventures, I supported media startups and helped partners like KQED, PRX, the Associated Press, and the New York Times navigate innovation challenges. And at The 19th and ProPublica, I've led technology inside newsrooms themselves.
Now I want to answer your questions about the future of news technology, and about how news works behind the scenes.
What can I answer for you?
I won't answer on behalf of any of the above organizations: this is my personal space. But I can provide my opinionated perspective, shed some light on how news works, and maybe help you answer some organizational questions of your own.
If you have a question for me, enter it here, and I’ll answer it in a future post.
If you’re a newsroom or non-profit leader yourself, I’ve opened some slots to have 1:1 conversations about your own technology strategy and challenges. You can book a call with me here using Calendly.
