There's an interesting thread about RSS plagiarism surrounding a handful of blogs at the moment. The central question is whether aggregation sites (one called Top Ten Sources in particular) that reproduce content from RSS feeds in full is a violation of copyright law. Jim Moore, of Harvard Law
There's a new standard icon for RSS feeds, adopted by both Microsoft and the Mozilla Foundation, so it'll be in Internet Explorer, Windows Vista, all new versions of Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird, and presumably a gazillion other places besides. Here's an explanatory blog post.
Ooh, it also turns out that Tim Berners-Lee, he who invented the web, now works for the Decentralized Information Group at MIT, which lists as its mission: application of Semantic Web techniques to specific application domains such as life sciences research, libraries and digital repositories, and peer-to-peer social networking applications.
