If they made a movie about growing up in Oxford in the nineties, 1. it would suck, 2. this might be the soundtrack. https://open.spotify.com/user/benwerd/playlist/12hYSYpWFX8WN8VWat0zwu

@wiilassie there's no legit way to watch the channels, I mean. And stuff like Only Connect doesn't make it here.

@wiilassie There is no legit way, but between iTunes and Netflix, I manage to find ways to pay to see most of it. Mostly iTunes (eg Who).

@andysylvester99 We were using some namespaced link tags - particularly for some indieweb resources. Absolutely a no go.

Erin has set herself up to get desktop notifications whenever I post to my personal site. How can I abuse this?

@andysylvester99 A lot of variance in reader parsing. For example: a surprising number of readers don't handle namespacing well.

Debugging RSS feeds. For a spec that hasn't really changed in 15 years, there sure are a lot of edge cases.

Seeing more startups crowdfund independently through campaigns before building: eg The Grid, Nikktto. Does it work?

@josephrooks I never replied to this, and I apologize - but definitely!

Data caps may be an issue (although cellcos could sell special plans). So, for now, maybe the future is in audio.

The fundamental flaw with digital set top boxes is they require broadband. Many families just have cellular. Let them use that.

@csoghoian This is great. Serious question: could it give certain political groups more ammo to further defund libraries?

@gominokouhai Here's a hint if you're on a shared host: upload the zip file, unzip it, then load in a browser. Should take you through it.

@tef @gominokouhai I should also say: check out on Freenode. (I'm actually away from my computer right now.)

Live events are still not good online. But the most glaring omission for me: the news. A serious online nightly news show would be good.

@_pius Yes. I used to do that a lot in the UK. Makes sense. Last Oscars I ended up going to a party at a movie theater a friend runs.

@_pius That makes sense: TV is still better at live events. But presumably that will go away as it stops being the primary platform?

Cable TV might still be worth it to you if you really, really, really like sport. But it's only a matter of time before that's online too.

Two of the biggest features in Known 0.8, which I failed to mention at Homebrew Website Club: SQLite & subdirectory installations.
